about shana

Shana West is a Museology Master's Degree Candidate at the University of Washington. She is currently the coordinator for Transforming Museums, an interdisciplinary academic conference, also at the UW. TM is a forum for informed and innovative practice. Shana is helping to realize its national scope through the development of a mission, vision, and three-year strategic plan. As part of her role, she leads and manages a team of 13 classmates to make it all happen.

Inspired by frequent childhood visits to COSI and a desire to apply cultural anthropology in everyday life, Shana is becoming an interpretive media developer for museums. She has developed skills in project management, interpretive writing, and a variety of digital media to design creative, accessible physical and virtual environments that make people want to learn and share.
